The questions people ask before the service opens. Each answer describes what the tool does, or what it refuses to do — never what you are supposed to feel about it.

Trust and neutrality

Is the tool “for” one parent against the other?

No, and that is a design decision, not a slogan. Both parents see exactly the same information, with the same reading rights, whatever each one’s subscription. There is no read receipt, no “seen at” status, no behaviour score.

What if the other parent refuses to join the file?

Repère works in “single parent” mode: you keep the calendar, the log and the documents on your side, with the same timestamping. The file stays open to the other parent should they change their mind — the invitation never expires.

Who pays for whom?

Each parent pays their own subscription if they want to write. The invited parent reads and follows the calendar free of charge, with no time limit. There is also a Duo plan (€14.90/month) that opens writing on both sides for a single payment — the covered parent is not told who pays.

Evidence and courts

Does the record carry weight in court?

Repère produces a timestamped PDF export, with hashes and certified time anchoring (RFC 3161). It is a body of dated, consistent material — far more usable than a pile of screenshots — but its evidential weight always remains for the judge to assess. We provide the cleanest possible file, not a court ruling.

Can the maker alter what has been written?

No. The record is append-only: nothing in it can be modified or deleted — not by you, not by the other parent, not by our team. That is verifiable in the export.

Can a lawyer, a mediator or a social worker get access?

Yes, read-only, at a parent’s invitation, with a free professional account. The parent decides on the invitation, and can withdraw it.

Data and security

Where is the data hosted?

In France. The service uses no advertising tracker and no third-party analytics cookie.

What happens if I stop my subscription?

You return to free reading (the Link plan): everything written remains available, to you and to the other parent. Writing closes, except for the custody calendar and alerts — saying that a child is ill must not depend on a subscription.

Can a child have an account?

No. A child is never a Repère user: there is a child record inside the file, and that is all.

Practical matters

Which languages, which countries?

Repère is available in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. The calendar knows the French school holidays (zones A, B and C) from the school’s postcode, or from an imported .ics file.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, seven days, with no card details when the trial starts.
